The 2018 #WorldCup is happening on Twitter

We’ve already filled you in on all the tips and tricks for setting up a global viewing party on Twitter in the #WorldCup how-to-follow guide. You know all the best accounts and hashtags to follow, now as we approach the final countdown before kickoff, we’re excited to offer even more ways to keep up with the all the World Cup action, on and off the pitch.

A fresh way to keep up with What’s Happening during the World Cup!

You, and other fans around the world, will get a front row seat to all 64 matches on Twitter.

A new look Twitter events format is the simplest way to keep up with the World Cup. We’re rolling out a dedicated World Cup page and individual pages for every game, which will be a one stop shop for scores updates, Tweets, videos, and Moments.

You can find these pages at the top of your timeline, in search, or in Explore! Available on Twitter for iOS and Android as well as mobile.twitter.com in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Russian, and Arabic.

Just search for “World Cup” and you’ll find relevant scores, Tweets and videos about the latest games.

Getting the best of the #WorldCup in Australia

We’ve partnered with SBS to give you a premium World Cup viewing experience. Tune in to Twitter, for the most riveting World Cup content and conversation.

SBS is broadcasting a live show with host Lucy Zelić (@LucyZelic), streamed exclusively on Twitter from Moscow’s Red Square from 7:30pm AEST each match day (23 shows, in total). The live show will feature The World Game guests and other football experts, who will bring audiences a range of match action, previews, recaps and the best Twitter highlights, as well as segments produced by the SBS team in Moscow. #WorldCup Emojis

Fans around the world can Tweet with hashtags in seven languages -- English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic and Portuguese -- to trigger special #WorldCup emojis throughout the tournament.

Each team will also get their own country-specific emoji as well. Use a hashtag in front of the relevant three-letter country code, and that country’s flag will appear after the text.
